How Referral Fees came about

Julius Caesar, the renowned Roman Emperor, offered soldiers a monetary reward in exchange for recruiting others to join his army. In fact, they may have been paid even up to a third of an entering soldier's annual salary. Many of the recruiting processes that are still in use today had their origins in that period. This involves offering equal employment chances and higher pay for hazardous jobs.
